The church of Panagia Paraportiani is situated in the town (Chora) of Mykonos, in the Kastro area. It was built around the 16th century and its name means "Our lady of the side gate" as its entrance was found in the gate of the entrance of the castle (Kastro).

Parapotiani has a unique architecture and it definitely worths a visit to admire this wonderful white church. It consists of five small churches attached all together. Four churches are based on the ground floor and the fifth church is built on top of them. It is considered as one of the most beautiful representatives of the Cycladic architecture and it attracts a very large amount of tourists every year.
